Get in the know!
After decades of adhering to societal norms, caring about what other people thought, working a full time job, saving for retirement, etc, I wound up not being fulfilled in anything I was doing. So, I gave it all up. I quit caring about trivial things and started caring a lot more as to where my energy was going and doing the things that bring me happiness and self-growth. I quit my job, limited my time reading the news / social media and decided that I have everything I need and live frugally as a human doesn't need much. In fact, I'll even say that the less a person has (aside from the basic necessities of shelter, food, water), the less one has to worry about 'stuff'. Billions of dollars is spent annually on advertising, trying to make you feel inferior and in 'need' of a certain thing, whether it be the newest mobile phone or anti-aging products. I just don't care about any of it anymore. What I do care more about is the environmental effects of our continued consumerism. Some issues we face as part of a plethora of species that live on this planet is microplastic pollution, ocean acidification, Realistically, the world looks a certain way, Noellistically, I look for the beauty and for its amazingness.
